Mikko is a business builder in his fifth decade of supporting tech founders who invent the future. He has served on approximately 100 boards across 10 countries – primarily in Finland and the United States, guiding companies through growth, transformation, and strategic milestones.
As a lead investor, Mikko has backed 20 businesses that have collectively raised over €500 million and generated more than €2.5 billion in realised value. His track record includes two Nasdaq US IPOs and two companies with 20x returns – three of which began at the pre-revenue stage. His most recent cash exit, valued at €700 million, was completed in 2024.
Mikko brings deep expertise in strategy, finance, and corporate governance. His board contributions span audit and risk management, nomination and compensation committees, and IPO preparation. He is also known for his hands-on support in operational execution and scaling.
In 1996, Mikko was instrumental in raising some of Finland’s first-ever venture capital funds, including an early environmental technology fund – setting the stage for a lifelong focus on innovation, impact, and founder-driven growth.
