Remy de Tonnac

Senior Partner

Remy joined ETF Partners as a Partner in 2016 and became a Senior Partner in 2023.

He was previously a CEO of Inside Secure, where he spent ten years, where he led a successful IPO of the company in 2012 on Euronext Paris.

Before that, he was Venture Partner at Vertex Venture Capital. In 1988 Remy co-founded Gemplus (which went on public on NASDAQ in 2000, now Gemalto, acquired by THALES).

Remy currently serves on the Board of Basemark, Fairly Made, Flyability, Dexter, Intigriti, Shippeo, SOS Accesoire, and Worldsensing.

He is also a mentor of the Creative Destruction Lab incubator in Sustainability at HEC Paris. Remy is Chair of the IVC, the International Venture Club of the Tech Tour, the largest VC association in Europe.

Remy has a Masters Degree in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lille as well as a Degree in Economics from Lille University France.

He is a father of 4 and an avid and competitive tennis player.

Define 'Sustainability Through Innovation'.

Over last few years, I have joined several dozen panels and attended several premier events focused on the greentech revolution. A key message that I consistently deliver, one that continues to resonate with diverse audiences, is that innovation is the most critical driver in ensuring a sustainable future. In fact, I often ask the audience directly, “Are there any climate-related challenges that cannot be solved through innovation?” As of now, I’ve never been told ‘no’.

I deeply believe that ETF Partners’ message is now more potent and urgent than ever. The future is in the hands of the pioneers and the disrupters, those who are tackling the most significant challenge the world has ever faced – addressing the climate emergency.
