VULOG takes global lead in Free-Floating car-share tech
VULOG now is the leading provider of new-generation car-sharing technology. The company announced the news during the Paris Motor Show, where it presented its innovative urban mobility solutions to the public for the first time.
VULOG surpassed its competitors by launching several large-scale projects in 2016, including EVO in Vancouver, Green Mobility in Copenhagen and Communauto in Montreal – bringing to 3,000 the total of shared cars worldwide connected to the VULOG platform. This year also witnessed the 10-millionth trip undertaken with VULOG technology.
“We are experiencing a major growth,” says VULOG CEO Grégory Ducongé. “The urban mobility revolution is just beginning, and VULOG is better situated than ever”.
The new generation of car-sharing, a.k.a. Free-Floating, is growing all around the world, because it is convenient for both drivers and operators: Free-Floating shared cars don't require prior reservation, nor expensive parking infrastructure. They add flexibility to urban transportation, thus reducing the need for personal cars.
Competing against the likes of Car2Go (operated by Daimler) and DriveNow (BMW), VULOG has developed its own turnkey solution. This solution permits any mobility actor – OEMs, rental companies, transportation operators, tech companies, etc. - to strategically position themselves in the car-sharing market.
